    A change in quantity demanded refers to a movement along a fixed demand curve -- that's caused by a change in price. A change in demand refers to a shift in the demand curve -- that's caused by one of the shifters: income, preferences, changes in the price of related goods and so on. Change in Quantity Demanded: ♦ Movement along the demand curve. ♦ Caused by a change in the price of the product. Change in Demand ♦ A shift in the demand curve, either to the left or right. ♦ Caused by a change in a determinant other than the price.  What is the difference between quantity demanded and demand?: Demand is the quantity of a good or service that consumers are willing and able to buy at given prices during a period of time. Quantity demanded is the amount of a good or service people will buy at a particular price at a particular time.
